| The Estonian UAS Foundation was created in 2010 in order to promote higher applied education and develop a network joining universities and entrepreneurs operating in Estonia. The aim of the Foundation is to organize and carry out the projects of the members of Rectors’ Conference of Universities of Applied Sciences of Estonia (RCUAS) The unique co-operation network established in the beginning of the 1990s today includes 13 different UAS. Although the members of the RCUAS represent very different fields of study, they still see further need for co-operation in order to develop the common elements of different fields of applied higher education. Some of the most important keywords are quality, education policy, image development, international relations, etc. Combined efforts are applied in order to meet the needs and quality thresholds of the society by carrying out projects and programs that stimulate the development of higher applied education. Represents the Estonian Professional Higher Education institutions, exchanges information and discusses normative documents with the Ministry. | |||

The supreme governing bodies of the University are the Council and the Senate. There are some 11,000 students including over 650 international students from almost 80 different countries, following full-time or part-time degree and diploma courses, many of them run on the modular or credit system. The University regularly hosts a large number of Erasmus and other exchange students. A basic Foundation Studies Course enables international high school students who have completed their secondary or high school education overseas but who do not have the necessary entry requirements, to qualify for admission to an undergraduate degree course at the University of Malta. | |||
